Lighthouse, an Alera Group company, a Grand Rapids operated insurance firm, announced the promotion of Ray Sohr to Vice President of Property & Casualty.

Sohr brings 13 years of insurance and managerial experience to his new position. He has served the entirety of his insurance career with Lighthouse and most recently held the position of Director of Personal Insurance. With this promotion, Sohr will be responsible for achieving desired growth, financial metrics, and key outcomes of the P&C business by implementing strategic initiatives that enhance employee and client experiences and by delivering effective operational outcomes. He will also lead the successful onboarding and integration of Lighthouse’s new affiliate agencies as the firm continues strategic M&A activity.

“I am equally honored and eager to serve in this capacity with Lighthouse,” said Sohr. “We have an incredible team between the Personal and Commercial departments here at Lighthouse and I look forward to growing our cross-departmental synergies and building upon the outstanding service we provide our P&C clients.”

“We are thrilled for Ray to pioneer this position at Lighthouse,” said Sarah Hudson, Vice President of Operations. “The success of the personal and commercial departments has been exponential; we needed a trusted leader to harness the momentum and take us to the next level. I am confident that under Ray’s leadership we will be able to leverage strategy, talent, carrier partnerships, and best practices from each department to create an enhanced client experience across our entire P&C practice.”
