Beacon Kalamazoo has recently been named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, a leading consumer resource for healthcare quality and provider information. This achievement reflects Beacon Kalamazoo’s commitment to clinical excellence and top-tier patient care, placing the organization in the top 2% of U.S. hospitals for overall clinical performance.
Alongside this national recognition, Beacon Kalamazoo has achieved the 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades. This award puts the organization in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety. Beacon Kalamazoo is the only hospital in Michigan to receive both the America’s 100 Best Hospitals and the Patient Safety Excellence Awards in 2026. The hospital has also been recognized for its exceptional patient outcomes in key service areas:

Beacon Kalamazoo’s senior leadership emphasized how recognition from Healthgrades reflects the dedication, compassion and expertise of teams across the hospital.
“Our mission is to deliver exceptional care for every patient, every time, and these Healthgrades awards affirm the dedication of our entire team,” said Carl Risk, President of Beacon Kalamazoo. “We are proud of this recognition because it reflects the trust our community places in us and the relentless commitment of our associates, nurses and physicians.”
Dr. Mark Noffsinger, Beacon Kalamazoo Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs, underscored the role of clinical collaboration and evidence based practice in achieving consistently strong results. “Quality and safety don’t happen by chance. They happen through rigorous clinical practice, strong teamwork and a deep commitment to doing what’s right for patients,” he said.
“These Healthgrades awards highlight the excellence of our medical staff and reinforce our focus on delivering the highest standard of care.”
Nursing leadership also affirmed the essential role nurses play in patient outcomes. “Our nurses play a vital role in patient outcomes, and this recognition is a direct reflection of their expertise, compassion and leadership at the bedside,” said Kari Snyder, Beacon Kalamazoo Vice President of Nursing. “We are honored to see our teams celebrated for the exceptional care they provide every day.”
