The cancellation or postponement of many fall sports has left sports fans feeling like they’re searching aimlessly for the 19th hole come Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. Instead of feeling down about not watching others play a game, we think it’s time you got out of your house to try something new. What would entice you to get your game on? Maybe it’s some friendly competition; maybe it’s feeling like a PGA pro; maybe it’s a nice cold beer; or maybe it’s the chance to enjoy the great outdoors. To enjoy all of these things and more, we recommend getting your game on with a game of golf. Holey Moley! Here in Southwest Michigan, you can have it any way you want it—18 holes, 9 holes, putt-putt, or disc golf. Our region is filled with beautiful courses, and we’ve chipped in a few ideas for you to tee off your weekend.

  1. Airway Fun Center’s mini golf course is the perfect adventure if you’re looking for a fun challenge. The 18-hole course is outside along with other activities that await, including go-kart, laser tag, and more!
  2. Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort has six championship golf courses in the area that, in total, offer 108 holes. The courses include Stonehedge North and South, Bedford Valley, Gull Lake View East and West, and Stoatin Brae, a links-style course ranked among the top five courses in Michigan.
  3. Although disc golf looks a little different than its clubbed companion, it still can be a hole in one. Kalamazoo is the place to be for disc golf, with several courses in the area to play, like Oshtemo Township Park, Red Arrow Golf Course, and Spring Valley Park
