Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan will bring back its Goodwill Golf Classic on Monday, July 27 at Gull Lake View Golf Resort, with registration opening March 1. The third annual outing continues to support Goodwill’s work in education, training, skill development, and meaningful employment opportunities across the region.
While the day offers plenty of fun on the course, organizers say the bigger goal is connection. Donations raised through the event help Goodwill design and remodel classrooms for workforce development training, while also creating an opportunity for golfers, businesses, and community supporters to better understand the organization’s local impact.
Goodwill says last year’s tournament brought 80 golfers into the field, with hopes of growing toward a full 144-player event in the years ahead. Organizers also said many participants learned about Goodwill’s GED programming for the first time, making the outing both competitive and mission-driven.
The field typically includes community members, vendors, corporate supporters, and others who want to be part of an event tied directly to workforce development and employment support. Organizers say that focus is what makes the Goodwill Golf Classic different from a typical charity outing.
This year’s event schedule includes registration at 7:30 a.m., range access at 8 a.m., and a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Snacks and beverages will be available on the course and at the turn, with a program, buffet, and auctions to follow golf.
And after a surprise hole-in-one added to the excitement last year, organizers are hoping for even more memorable moments this summer.
