In partnership with several Kalamazoo organizations, including the City of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County and Southwest Michigan First, the Discover Kalamazoo team is working on an exciting initiative to develop a Unique Selling Proposition – or core branding message – for Kalamazoo County. This proposition will ultimately serve as the foundation for future Kalamazoo marketing efforts, helping to drive tourism, local business, as well as unite the current Kalamazoo community around a message that stands for all residents.
As part of this project, we’d like to involve and hear from as many Kalamazoo community members as possible. To that end, we plan to host two Community Roundtable discussions on June 28th – one in the early afternoon in downtown Kalamazoo from 12 pm – 2 pm, followed by an evening session in Vicksburg from 5 pm – 7 pm.
These will be informal, 2-hour group dialogs that give members of our community an opportunity to have their voices heard in this initiative, talking to what they think makes Kalamazoo a special place to live, as well as anything else they want our team to take into consideration as we develop this proposition. Participants will receive a $25 gift card for their time.

We have partnered with an agency, Consumer Dynamics, to help lead these conversations. They will be going through all the registration submissions to ensure a good cross-section of representation from a broad range of stakeholders throughout the County. They will reach out directly to those who have been selected to attend. While these roundtables will be limited in capacity, there will be additional opportunities to give input later in this project if you are not selected for these roundtables.
