Share

All of the votes have been counted in Kalamazoo County, and the results, while still unofficial, have been determined. Below is a list of all the individuals who won the key offices we’ve been tracking for you all along during this election cycle. In addition to these races for important local seats, the Kalamazoo County Housing Proposal passed, which will raise money to go towards expanding affordable housing options in the county and subsidizing rent for low-income residents. The proposal replaces a previous 0.1-mill property tax with a 0.75-mill tax for eight years, 2021 through 2028, and is estimated to raise $6.3 million in the first calendar year. The previous 2015 millage has helped more than 500 families with children, while the 2020 millage expands the language beyond helping families with school-age children.
