Labor Shortage

There is a major labor shortage occurring in manufacturing. According to Deloitte’s Manufacturing Insight Manufacturing Talent report, there will be 2.1 million jobs that will go unfilled by 2030, of which 53% will be considered hard to find due to the lack of qualified talent or skill.

Furthermore, the U.S. Department of Labor shows there are just under 600,000 maintenance professionals (those that support manufacturing) in the U.S., but 72% of them are over the age of 40. At Pro Services, a leader in workforce solutions and talent acquisition in skilled trade and maintenance verticals, we refer to it as the “cliff.”

You couple these two problems with 75% of industrial organizations identifying reskilling the workforce as important/very important over the next year, but only 10% said they were ready to address this trend, and you have a perfect storm. Pro Services has the answer. We address the issue by offering a comprehensive apprenticeship program that transforms your employees into proficient journeymen, ready to tackle real-world challenges. We aim to empower your workforce with the technical expertise needed for success through our maintenance mechanic journeyman training program, known as Pro U.

Pro U: An Innovative Apprenticeship Program

Pro U condenses a traditional four-year apprenticeship into a streamlined two-and-a-half-year experience, culminating in a Maintenance Mechanic Journeyman Certificate.

Two Options for You:

Option One: We vet, train, and place apprentices at your site to supplement your current workforce.

Option Two: We train your current maintenance team to become licensed Journeymen.

How We Do It:

In-Field and Online Training: Our apprenticeship begins with 14 weeks of intensive hands-on training which takes place in-house at Pro Services. Apprentices then undergo a minimum of 3,900 hours of on-the-job training, working alongside your experienced professionals. This practical knowledge is complemented by 144 hours of online training annually. This dual approach ensures a balanced development of practical and theoretical skills.

Meeting Educational Standards on a Compressed Timeline: Our curriculum is designed to meet all educational requirements as outlined by the U.S. Department of Labor within a compressed timeline, ensuring thorough and efficient training without sacrificing depth.

Federally Recognized Certification: Graduates earn a Maintenance Mechanic Journeyman Certificate, recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor. This certification validates the rigorous training process and enhances the professional credibility of your employees.
