How to Get Listed on Shop Local Greater Kalamazoo

Bring your products or product photos, leave with a live online shop. This is a complimentary, hands-on workshop to start selling your products on Shop Local Greater Kalamazoo, The Chamber’s online marketplace. Chamber membership not required.

Shop Local Greater Kalamazoo is an initiative of the Southwest Michigan First Chamber, with sponsorship from the City of Kalamazoo and the City of Portage. It is a community, online marketplace that helps local businesses reach customers looking to spend their dollars locally year-round.

Who this is for

This workshop is a good fit if your business:

• Sells physical products (food and value-added goods, art, crafts, retail items, and similar)
• Has at least five products ready to list, or can pull together five by the workshop date
• Can fulfill an online order by shipping it or by offering local pickup; you do not have to ship every item
• Is based in, or selling to, the Greater Kalamazoo area

This is a working session, not a lecture. You will sit down with our team, set up your virtual storefront, and list your first few products. You’ll walk out with active listings on the site! Come with your products or photos and a rough idea of pricing, and we’ll handle the setup together in the room.

There are no profile or listing fees to participate, only standard payment processing fees through Paypal or Stripe.

How to prepare (Important: please read)

Before the workshop, you must complete the short vendor registration form at https://www.shoplocalgreaterkalamazoo.com/vendor-registration/.

This gives you approval to create your Shop Local Greater Kalamazoo profile, which you will need to have in hand when you arrive. We cannot get you activated and online without it.

After you have completed the vendor registration form, you’ll need to bring these things to the workshop:

• Your products or clear photos of them
• A rough price for each item
• A laptop, preferably (a tablet or other mobile working device can be used if a laptop is unavailable)

If you prefer to set up a time one-on-one, you can apply for a profile at your convenience. Once approved, you will have access to a library of short video tutorials. We recommend the workshop as the fastest way to finish in one sitting.
