Kalamazoo Valley Community College is hosting an exciting culinary event, the Kalsec Food for Thought Culinary Competition, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 24 at its Marilyn J. Schlack Culinary and Allied Health building, located at 418 E. Walnut St., in downtown Kalamazoo. It is free and open to the public.
The competition is generously sponsored by the Kalsec Company. Judges will determine the winners, who will be announced at 6:30 p.m.
Participants in the Food for Thought contest are culinary arts students who have been paired with a research chef or food scientist from Kalsec to create an appetizer that will be sampled by guests at the event.
“Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to taste and socialize with fellow foodies,” said KVCC Foundation Officer and Grant Coordinator Annette Chapman.
Registration for the free event is open now at https://www.kvcc.edu/foundation/.
