In 7 days, Stryker went from concept to launch of the New Emergency Relief Bed

Share

In response to the changing needs of health around the world, Stryker raced to develop an Emergency Relief Bed to support both patients and healthcare workers during the unprecedented high-demand for patient platforms in the midst of COVID-19. Brad Saar, president of the medical division of Stryker, released a statement saying, “We’ve listened and worked to quickly respond in the development of a low cost, limited release emergency response bed to quickly gauge you with efficient care during this critical time. You make the difference, and as your needs evolve, our team around the world is ready to help.”

Expertly created with the disease in mind, the low-cost readily available beds feature a 30-degree Head of Bed angle to accommodate patients in respiratory distress, a low height, 6” thick mattress, and attached IV pole to support those on the front line of the crisis to move and position patients efficiently. With a target to manufacture 10,000 beds per week, Stryker plans to meet the ongoing needs of healthcare workers and caregivers.
