Each member of the Landscape Forms team is expected to actively support the four Scanlon principles and the OnTrac criteria. Landscape Forms believes these are crucial to the success of an individual and the overall success of the company.

This position is responsible for the engineering and development of new products and product improvements. This person must be skilled at understanding design requirements and be able to propose product solutions and schedules. The most successful candidates will be highly motivated servant leaders who can manage projects and effectively communicate with designers, management, team members and production staff.

Principal Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  1. Collaborate with designers and Sr. Product Engineer on potential solutions to product development issues.
  2. Working individually and as a team, engineer and model potential product solutions in CAD.
  3. Integrate issues of design, function, materials, durability and manufacturing with cost effective solutions.
  4. Uphold design and performance criteria with validation and testing of proposed solutions and products.
  5. Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with in-house engineering procedures.
  6. Help create budgets and schedules. Clearly communicate important events to those who need it.

Criteria for Success
Must have a history of servant leadership with an emphasis on achievements, problem solving and providing great service. Must have the desire to learn and innovate and be willing to accept responsibility. Must be able to work individually, or as a member of a team, use common sense and build a network of relationships with a positive attitude.

Education, Experience, and Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, plus five (5) years related experience is preferred. Must be able to analyze data from many variables and apply engineering calculations to design structural solutions. Must be proficient in SolidWorks, Microsoft office, blueprint reading, and project management. Experience in metal fabrication, cellular manufacturing, and the properties of material used in site furniture such as steel, aluminum, wood, and plastics.

This person must possess a high level of written and verbal communication with a variety of audiences. Must have the ability to give clear instruction regarding technical data to both technical and non-technical disciplines including written reports. For example, Sales representatives, architects, engineers, vendors, production personnel.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Mostly office, but may be required to work in noisy or hot environment and around moving machinery. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, sit or walk for up to five (5) hours.
